The commission for this follows on the enormous success of Tim’s adaptation and production of Taming of the Shrew for the RSC.

Tim is writing and directing a new play for the I, Shakespeare series. Commissioned by the RSC, I, Cinna (the Poet) is Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar told through the eyes of a jiggling fool, a lowly poet who is having bad dreams and a man who finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The play premieres at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon from 13 June – 6 July 2012, then tours to schools in the Midlands and Newcastle upon Tyne. Tim will not be performing in this one.

Tim is abridging and directing a young people’s Lear for the Royal Shakespeare Company, due to open in September 2012, touring in the UK and New York, where it will be seen by over a million students in the city’s schools, both in live performance and in a filmed version.
